I was first given the violin as a christening present, and after many years of strumming it like a guitar, I agreed to learn it properly when I was 5.
I was extremely fortunate to grow up in a musically rich family - there was always music happening somewhere at home. My Mum taught me early on, and when I was 16, my family and I moved to New Zealand where I went to Burnside High School and was taught by Stephen Larsen. After completing my BMus Hons with top marks in performance music violin in 2016, I now spend my time teaching and playing in professional settings such as APO, Bach Musica and Auckland Choral.
